Amcor Limited is a global company that focuses on producing and developing sustainable packaging for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical, home and personal care, and other products. The company operates in 250 sites expanding across more than 40 countries with approximately 50 000 employees. The main aspiration of the company is to be the leading global packaging company in the world by providing packaging that are better for its consumers and the environment. Amcor Limited aims to do this through developing more sustainable packaging that are recyclable or reusable, increasing their use of recycled content and collaborating through worldwide partners such as CEFLEX, MRFF and the recycling partnership to increase recycling methods globally. Other collaborations include effective waste management to prevent plastics entering the ocean, increase recovery and recycling of plastic packaging and research areas about the effects of marine debris in the wildlife. Moreover, the company pursued an opportunity to make all its packaging to be recycled and reusable by 2025 and is the first global packaging company to make this pledge. Furthermore, other sustainable initiatives of the company includes reducing their waste disposal by 20% in 2025, reducing their greenhouse emissions by 60% in 2030, and overall improve the efficiency of their water use in all of their sites worldwide. The company began in 1860 when Samuel Ramsden opened the first paper mill in Victoria known as APM (Australian Paper Manufacturers).
